Coronavirus Update for OFLC

March 13, 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

At 2:00 PM this Friday afternoon I was part of a conference call between Governor Polis and church leaders in the state of Colorado. Governor Polis announced he was “issuing guidance” requiring cancelation of large public gatherings of over 250 people unless they can successfully take steps to limit contact between people to six feet.

Consequently, though we had initially hoped to continue with public worship services, Our Father will be joining with other local congregations and temporarily suspend our public worship gatherings for at least the next two weeks. We do this to show extreme caution in the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), especially to the most vulnerable members of our congregation.

Though we will not be gathering together in public worship, we will be making worship services available for you and your family to view online. These will include music, prayers and the preaching of God’s word. We strongly encourage you to utilize these videos which will be available through our website, Facebook, and email. To receive electronic communications from Our Father please go to oflc.net/subscribe and fill out the form provided there. If you are in need of pastoral counsel during this time, please call the church office at 303-779-1332 x221. And, again, please go to our website and subscribe to receive further updates.

There are many uncertainties at this time, and so let me remind you of what is for certain. We know that Jesus is alive! That Jesus is King! That Jesus is the One seated on the throne and working through all things. As Jesus says to us in the last chapter of Matthew: “Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

To Christ alone be all the glory!
Pastor Abel
