WOMEN’S BRUNCH / “LOVING YOUR ACTUAL NEIGHBOR”
Sat Apr 4 / 9:30am
Special Guest: Alexandra Kuykendall
Join us for the Women’s Ministry Brunch, Saturday, April 4 at 9:30am at OFLC. Our guest, Alexandra Kuykendall, will speak on the topic of “Loving Your Actual Neighbor.” As Christians, we know we are called to love our neighbor. We may even grasp that “neighbor” encompasses more than just the people living next door or down the street. But what we too often don’t know is how to begin. How do we love our neighbor? Where do we start? What does this look like in our increasingly isolated world?” This will be a special morning of fellowship, prayer, learning, discussion, and a time to connect with friends and make new ones! Join us!
WOMEN’S RETREAT / “REST ASSURED”
May 8-9 / Hilton Garden Inn Meridian
Special Guest: Sarah Salzberg
Join us for a weekend devoted to the rest and renewal of the Women of OFLC. Our guest speaker, Sarah Salzberg, will lead a study and discussion on the subject of finding rest and peace in the midst of our busy lives. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus beckons, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” By rereading Genesis 1 over and over and over again, it becomes clear how vital rest is to God’s creation. God knows you need it. Culture teaches us to be batteries; you’re either working or you’re dead. Scripture teaches that we need a break to recharge, but this means that we need the resurrection of Jesus to give us the only real rest from our burdens.
Women’s Bible Study – Tuesdays, 9:30 am in the Conference Room
All women are invited to join us for this time of Bible study every Tuesday morning throughout the school year (does not meet over the summer). Our study this winter and spring will be the book of Psalms.
Book Club – Third Mondays, 6:00 pm in the Conference Room
The Book Club meets once monthly (on the third Monday of the month) to discuss a book. Everyone is welcome to join the group even if you have not read the book. Join us for refreshments, fellowship and lively discussion of the book. Please refer to the most current newsletter for the current book and next meeting date. For a list of the books we are reading, look at the bulletin board just outside the church office doors.
